Write for Me: Personal Growth Guest Post Guidelines

guest posts

Update as of 9/19/22 – I will be accepting new admissions in the winter. Stay tuned!

Thank you so much for your interest in writing a guest post for The Silent Torch, and welcome. I talk about major depressive disorder (MDD) self-care and provide a safe haven for positive thinking and reinforcement if you’re new to my page.

My goal is to help others understand their mental health and find ways to manage it while living the life they deserve.

Before you get started, please take some time and carefully read the guidelines below to see what type of content I’m looking to publish. So, if you are an excellent writer who would love to share your personal development journey to help others, then I’d love to hear from you.

Who should write for me:

I wanted to dedicate this section to those who have gone through or are in the process of a personal development journey. This could be someone who has gained mental, emotional, physical, social, or spiritual growth.

With that being said, I’m looking to publish and promote articles written by fellow bloggers, writers, mentors, and self-development coaches who have personal growth stories that they’ll like to share for others to be inspired by.

It doesn’t matter if you’re well-known with millions of followers or a small-time blogger looking to share your story. All walks of the writing world are very welcome here.

Before you can submit a personal growth guest post:

Please check out other posts on my website to get a feel for the voice and feel of how I like to present things here on The Silent Torch. I like to provide a positive and encouraging environment while sharing information. I’m looking to share others’ self-growth, personal development, empowerment, stories in hopes that it will inspire others to read your stories and do the same.

What your guest post should be:

  • Your post should be a personal story about your growth relating to one of the growths listed above. However, if you would like to write the story of a close friend, it will be taken into consideration. For those stories, I ask that if you’re going to use their name ask for permission or you can use alias names but be sure to note that within your post.
  • The post should be original, authentic and NO PLAGIARISM! I would rather it be exclusive.
  • Your post MUST be between 1000-1500 words. Anything shorter, unfortunately, will not be accepted.
  • There should be headers (H1, H2, H3) separating your sections.
  • Be sure that your keywords are throughout your post. A maximum of 3 is fine however, you should have one main keyword (focus keyword). And it should be SEO friendly.
  • Provide all links to your sources within your posts. If you’re quoting someone, be sure to cite them.

Do’s and Don’ts:

  • Do feel free to provide your own images. While this is optional, if you have images that you feel would go good with your post then please provide them. They should be wide width, 1200 x 628 pexels. Be sure that they are free stock photos and cite the source of your images. If you’re providing personal photos, be sure to cite yourself as the source.
  • Do write from the heart. Remember, your post will inspire others to take the steps towards growth within themselves.
  • Do share any materials (self-help books, worksheets, programs, etc.) you may have used to help you with your personal growth.
  • Do write out numbers. I accept one instead of 1, two instead of 2. You can, however, use the numbers format in your title.
  • Don’t be afraid to share some of the failures you’ve experienced as well as your successes.
  • Don’t advertise your site or sponsors within the post. You’ll have a section dedicated to your information towards the end of your post. But please, SPONSORS WILL NOT BE POSTED OR CITED!!
  • Don’t spam the email provided. You will be notified with a decision.

Final touches before submitting your guest post:

  • Dot all your “I’s” and cross all your “T’s”.  Please be sure that you’re handing in a post that’s edited, proofread and no grammatic errors.
  • When sending your email, please put in the subject line, “Self Journey guest post submission” so that I can easily see your email. I may not see emails without the proper subject line.
  • Please provide a short written paragraph for your author bio that will be posted with your blog post. It should include who you are, and what you do.
  • Deliver your final post as a word doc or google doc to the email provided.
  • Provide a link to your website, 2 social media accounts (can be your personal and/or business). I want to give credit where credit is due.
  • A photo of your best side. Photo dimensions should be 200 x 200 and a JPEG format. Make sure the photo is visible.
  • Make sure you have a main keyword and provide your keywords at the end of your post as such “Keywords used : ______ , ______ , ______”
  • Be sure to provide your full name. Anonymous will not be accepted as a post.

Terms of submitting your personal growth guest post:

  • If your post is accepted, you can expect it to be published within a 2-week period. You will be notified the day before. On the date of publishing, I will advertise your post all my social media platforms, homepage, exclusive self-journey page, and newsletter. I will be sure to tag your social media handles as well. You can also advertise your guest post on your social media platforms as well.
