We may eat dessert all the time but we wait all year long for these Christmas desserts. Rushing through our dinners just to grab a clean plate for a piece of that homemade pie. They are the true star of the holiday feast and always good down to the very last bite.

While we enjoy our desserts all year round, there’s something about the Christmas holiday that makes them extra special. It may be that extra dash of sprinkles on cookies or the festive colors of the frosting draped over that three-layered chocolate cake.

I didn’t think red velvet cake was a part of Christmas dessert either but the more I asked around and researched, I found out that a lot of people make it a part of their tradition. I know that my grandma made it a few times for Christmas.
